Kasey Malakie's fight with Cancer

Kasey is a 35-year-old single mom of two smart, loving, kind, driven girls- Christianna (15) and Olivia (13). She is a strong, independent force of a woman that cancer has had the bad fortune of coming up against. Kasey has had more than her fair share of challenges and obstacles throughout her life. But, she's overcome each one while still finding the energy and love to raise two amazing humans AND support those around her!

In the last six months alone, those challenges just kept coming. First, Kasey lost her father in November of 2021. Then, two months later, in January, she contracted COVID, which she never fully recovered from. In April, she began to have a strange feeling in her throat, like a piece of food that she couldn't clear. As the week progressed, the lymph nodes on the right side of her neck began to swell. After a few Dr visits and a biopsy, she received the life-changing diagnosis of Hodgkin Lymphoma.

So begins the next obstacle Kasey will overcome. But this time- SHE is the one who needs support. She is currently waiting to be staged, but had her port surgery yesterday. After a PET scan, she will begin chemo right away.

Those of us who know and love Kasey, know that she will fight to keep working throughout, but realistically she will need rest to recover. Although everyone around her- even her Doctors- have told her to get a GoFundMe started, she doesn't want to ask for help. So, here I am, asking everyone who reads this to help out in any way they can. Nothing is too small. Kasey and her girls deserve to feel the love and support they have always shown others.
