Kash & Appollo vet bills

Donation protected
Friday night around 9:30pm two of mine and my boyfriends (Tyler Walsh) dogs broke out of our fenced in backyard. While driving around looking for them I came across two cars pulled over and a cop car, assuming it was an unrelated fender bender I drove past until I noticed one of the dogs (Appollo) laying on the side of the road. I pulled over and ran over to him while calling my boyfriend to come to the scene. By the time animal control had arrived about 20 minutes later I was already covered in my dogs blood, they rushed him to VCA animal hospital in East Hartford while we searched for the second dog (Kash). About 20 minutes later I recieved a call from VCA telling me I had to come down and asking if they should preform resuscitation if I didn’t make it in time. Upon arriving to VCA they gave us an estimated bill of anywhere from $7,000-$10,000 and had us pay 75% of that. I stayed with Appollo as long as I could until around 3am while my boyfriend searched for Kash with no luck. We then stayed up all through the night and next day searching through the woods, even going into ponds to check for his body. Appollo had suffered pneumothorax, pulmonary contusions, bruised ribs, abdominal bleeding, skin abrasions and lacerations and had to get staples in his chest. They prepped oxygen and prepared for emergency surgery if needed. After searching for Kash all night and all Saturday we still hadn’t found any signs of him. Sunday morning I received calls from my mom as well as a friend of a friend who had spotted Kash in the Spazzarini back lot hiding. We rushed down there and he came right to us. We brought him to Bolton Animal Hospital where they did an X-ray. He was limping, had cuts all over, major road rash on his back to the point his fur was burned off, bruised ribs, his pupils weren’t responding to light, he has a concussion and potential neurological damage. Appollo and Kash were both able to come back home to us Sunday afternoon on multiple pain killers and antibiotic prescriptions. Both of them have very harsh breathing still, are separated and are being watched 24/7 incase they need to be rushed back to vet. Neither can do much besides lay down right now. We have also been in contact with our regular vet and are bringing them there to be seen for follow ups and another X-ray on Kash’s front leg. On behalf of myself and the Walsh family we are beyond grateful to everyone who came out to help search for Kash and called us through out the weekend with potential info on his whereabouts. Thank you to everyone who has kept us in your prayers this past weekend. We are definitely not fully in the clear with Appollo yet, he has a long road of recovery to go still. Vet bills have added up quit a bit between the two dog’s injuries and we are feeling very overwhelmed with everything at the moment, if anyone can help even by just sharing this link it would be greatly appreciated.
