Kashtyn and his family

Hi, We are Crystal and Cassie. We are Megan's best friends and have created this fundraiser to help out financially during this challenging time. Kashtyn, 8 months old, was flown to Randall's on May 11th due to seizures and not breathing. Megan, Zach and Kashtyn spent over a week in the hospital getting countless tests done to try and figure out what was going on. He continued to have seizures in the hospital and was diagnosed with Pneumonia. Once discharged and sent back home to Redmond, it was still a battle. Genetic testing was done, and on June 1st, they got the heart-wrenching call that he was diagnosed with Menkes Disease. This is a fatal disorder that causes the majority of kids to die within their first 3 years of life but has a life expectancy of fewer than 10 years. This is the worst news you can receive as a parent. There is a long road ahead of unknowns, and we would like to help relieve the stress of the financial burden for this family during this difficult time. On the last trip to Portland, Zach had to leave after a few days to go back to work. He is the sole source of income for the family, and we want them to be able to spend these moments together with Kashtyn while they navigate the unforeseen future.
