Helping Kassandra

A beautiful 11 year old girl named Kassandra got some devastating news on Friday On Friday October 23rd, 2015. Her mom, took her to a kids party and while she danced her leg started hurting. Throughout the rest of the night the pain got worse and her parents took her to the hospital. After numerous tests, they heard those words that everyone fears. Kassandra is suffering from a type of bone cancer called Osteosarcoma and it has spread to her lungs. Needless to say, her parents are devastated, they both have to take time off to be by her side and not sure when they will go back to work. 

Kassandra happens to be my little niece and she just turned 11 a little over a month ago. Her parents have been together 14 years and Kassandra is their first child, their second is 8 years old. My cousins, Betty and Fernando are devoted parents and Kassandra is the one holding them together. She is being very strong for an 11 year old and is giving them strength to battle thorough this shock. 

She will start Chemotherapy today October 29th for an estimate of 9 months and will need a leg surgery as well. We are asking friends to help with donations since their insurance does not cover much.  She is in Miami  Children’s Hospital .
