Kat Reisk: A Staged Reading
Donation protected
Kat Reisk is a play by Patrick TJ Kelly that began development in 2015 as a small eight page one act. Five years, and several drafts, later the full play is going up as a staged reading on March 22nd, 2020 at The Den Theater in Chicago, IL!
So what’s this play about? Kat Reisk is a modern day existential circus act following a family of clown’s as they reconcile with their identity. Also there’s a kat.
A staged reading is a lot different from a full production. Although the play will be cast, rehearsed, and lightly blocked by director Kelsey Tuma, the actors will still be reading from scripts and movement is minimal. Staged readings are valuable for a number of reasons. Working with actors on the emotional journey of a text can help demonstrate a plays potential, and allow a chance for future collaborators to get acquainted with the project!
As exciting as it is to be producing a staged reading, any type of production comes with production costs, and in order to put this one up we need your help! In order to fully fund this reading our goal is to raise 1000 dollars. These funds will cover rental costs, printing costs, and allow us to pay our wonderful cast.
We couldn’t be more grateful for any and all contributions, and are so excited to bring the wacky world of Kat Reisk to life!
