Kate McClain Support thru Severe Medical Trauma
If you know Kate, you know she is her own person. At 16 years old she is an exemplary student at Herron High School in Indianapolis, which is a private liberal arts high school with a very challenging curriculum where she maintains above a 4.0 GPA.
She is a gifted artist, musician and sarcastically whitty-minded teenager who is now in a very scary medical situation.
On Friday, June 5th she wasn’t feeling well after arriving to visit in Michigan. By Sunday she was in screaming pain and Dad took her to Providence Park Hospital in Novi, MI. She was admitted with an Appendicitis diagnosis.
However, it has come with severe complications. The appendix has been perforated longer than she realized and formed 2 cysts and severe swelling and infection in her body.
Thursday, June 11th she was transferred to the University of Michigan Mott’s Children’s Hospital and their Team of Experts have hit the ground running to try and get Kate healthy.
Mom is staying with here in the Hospital and Dad is there as much as possible. Hospitals have Covid restrictions on visitors their youngest daughter, Rae, is here as well.
Kate has not been able to hold any food down for a week now. She’s dealing with severe vomiting and tremendous pain, and she is scared.
And her Parents are extremely scared as well... and aware this is all Out of State and Out of Network. She has a long road ahead of her of likely more than one surgery and lengthy recovery.
Any amount will assist with immediate financial needs as well as mounting medical costs.
