Hi, my name is Christine and I’m Kate’s sister-in-law. As you’ve likely heard by now, Kate left this plane of existence late Saturday night. Though she’d been chronically ill for more than a decade we did not know her death was immediately imminent.
Despite physical limitations, Kate cultivated a community and told us all that we matter. A lot of people say they’re going to start a podcast but few people actually make one, especially one so popular and enduring as Kate’s. Through that medium she was able to share her unique way of thinking and give us insight into how her brilliant and creative mind worked.
All that my brother has asked for is that you share your memories of Kate and the way she touched your life. This legacy is so important for him and their children to have. To facilitate that, please contact me. I’d like to record as many stories as possible for them to read and listen to as they grieve and remember their mom and wife.
I have an additional ask, if it is within your means, please donate a few dollars to help with debt accrued during Kate’s lengthy illness. All the money will go directly to my brother to assist with bills. I want the last thing for him to have to worry about right now to be money.
I have an eternal debt of gratitude towards Kate. She solidified our family in a way that demonstrated her kindness, generosity, and warmth.
I deeply appreciate any way you can help honor Kate and the lasting impression she has had on us all.
