Katelynn Joy NICU Fund

This is Katelynn Joy Bartholomew. Born June 12th to Derric and Joy Bartholomew, she was premature born 32 weeks. She was scheduled to be born Aug 3rd but needed to be delivered before then. She was born via emergency C Section because Joy's life was in danger with an issue called Mirror Syndrome. She was mirroring the issue with the baby onto her self... rare condition but we believe it saved Katelynn's life because it caused the doctors to look at Katie to see what was occurring. Joy was swelling and to a point stopped urinating (TMI, sorry!)

Since Katie's birth, she's been fighting for her life due to what has been identified as a Hydrops baby. Hydrops is when a baby, in utero takes on liquid where it is not support to be. In Katie's case it was her tummy, neck, head and lungs. She's been having issues with Respiratory, Kidney since birth. The doctors believe it is due to her Lymphatic system having "leaks" meaning when he body redistributes liquids/toxins that it leaks where it is not support to go inside her body. 

She currently isn't able to eat without the Edema/Swelling coming back which causes issues with BP, Kidney, Respiratory... Until we can get her to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for their lymphatic system issue to begin running tests/diagnostic. This is the oversimplified, 10,000 foot overview on Katelynn but if I wrote her story in it's entirety Id be here for weeks. It is literally that much back and forth / testing / treatment to keep her alive. To say the least, it has been & continues to be an emotional roller coaster for Joy & I. We will continue to be strong and fight as Katie continues to be strong and fight. 

Were at 80+ days in NICU with no end in site but the medical bills has begun. Even though we have insurance the cost is still high that we need to pay out of pocket. A N Y help will be greatly appreciated financially but if you're not in a position to be able to, don't. Just having her in your thoughts and prayers is something <3
