Kate’s Car Accident and Recovery
Donation protected
Hi! We’re raising money for Kate who was in a terrible car accident on 12/20 while she was on her way to work as an ER nurse. The accident happened suddenly when someone pulled out in front of Kate, causing her car to wreck. She was taken to Bayfront Trauma center where they didn’t know if they’d have to amputate her right arm but after over 6 hours in surgery, they were able to save it. She has no feeling in her dominant hand, limited use of her wrist, limited range of motion in her dominant arm, and will never lift more than 5-10lbs again.
Kate had recently started a temporary travel contract with the hospital she was headed to that day, which means she was not a permanent employee with insurance and benefits like long term disability. Her contract was cancelled since she has been in the hospital, and the doctors don’t know when she’ll be able to work again.
Kate is a mother of 3 boys, a US Army veteran, and an amazing nurse and friend. It’s been a very hard several years for Kate and her family with one tragedy after the other, but she is resilient, and with our help we hope to get her through this. She won’t be able to work for a long time, and the medical bills are just getting started. Please consider donating to help her and her family as she works to heal and recover.
