Kate Minchin’s fight against cancer - Histotripsy

Hi my name is Val & together with Kate & Charlie’s friends we are seeking your support to raise some funds for our dear friend Kate, a 41-year-old devoted mother of two, who has been battling an aggressive cancer since being diagnosed in 2019. What began as a suspected lump, quickly turned into a nightmare of double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and the heartbreaking return of the cancer as stage 4 in 2022. Despite the spread to her brain, bones, and organs, Kate has faced each challenge with astonishing bravery and a smile that inspires us all.

Sadly, Kate's liver is now severely compromised. Traditional treatments like radiation, surgery and a transplant are no longer viable and her options are limited. Once her liver fails, chemotherapy is no longer an option, leaving us searching for hope elsewhere.

That hope lies in Histotripsy, a revolutionary, targeted treatment that could be life-saving for Kate. This innovative procedure focuses solely on destroying cancer cells in the liver, offering a chance where others have been exhausted.
