My name is Miguel Ortiz-Crane. I am raising funds on behalf of my cousin-sister, Kim Richtmyer Harris, and in memory of her daughter (my niece), Katherine "Katie" Harris. Funds raised will help cover funeral costs as well as legal fees associated with the family's pursuit for justice in Katie's wrongful death. You see, while walking home from work the night of Sunday, April 16, 2023, our little Katie was killed by a speeding drunk driver as she was using the crosswalk with the right of way. Katie was pronounced dead on the scene, just steps from her apartment in Brooklyn. Katie was just 31 years old.

Our family is devastated by the tragic, violent, and senseless loss of our joyful, quirky, and loving Katie. In an instant, our lives have changed forever, and the world will never be the same. We know that no amount of money or even punishment of the perpetrator of this horrific act will ever bring Katie back. We do not seek any personal gain, only to be able to cover these unplanned and never in a million years expected expenses.
