Katherine West Newell

My wife, Katherine West Newell joined her maker on August 16th, we had an amazing 18 months together. We had one of those storybook romances where we found the person we were supposed to be with for the rest of our lives, but cancer reared its ugly head. Katie ended up with breast, colon, liver, and bone cancer. She battled as best she could, her body just could not fight anymore. Katie was getting on disability, but it would not take effect until November. Obviously, we did not get to that point. Katie sold her beloved purses and shoes as well as her car to help cover the costs of living. The bills were arriving while she was still in the hospital. I hate asking for any help but due to the cancer she was without any life insurance and as great as the insurance for Ferguson is, there is a growing tally that might end up in the six-figure range. My Katie touched so many lives; I have been inundated with stories and pictures and the sweetest memories of my wife. I do not know many of the people who have shared their sweet memories but cherish every one of those stories that I have read. I am dehydrated from the tears I have shed. Any help is greatly appreciated and will help with keeping her fur babies happy and healthy and alleviating some of the health costs. Katie passed in the best way possible, no pain and surrounded by loved ones.

I feel awful for asking anyone, let alone strangers for financial help, but the cost of health care; even with insurance, is insane.
