Katherine Winchell’s Medical Bills and Expenses

Our names are William Holmes and Amber Coon and we are establishing a Go Fund Me for Katherine Winchelll. Katherine has been an tireless volunteer and activist throughout her life. She is an amazing friend and many know her to be a constant support to others during dark and difficult times in their lives. Now it is our turn to share some of that with her.

This past Sunday at 5:45pm, coming home from a camping trip in the Grand Canyon, Katherine was involved in a near fatal head on car accident. Sadly, this accident has left her severely injured; she is hospitalized and facing several surgeries and a long road to recovery. Katherine has been a part of multiple costuming organizations including the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, The Dark Empire, and Saber Guild. She has supported these organizations throughout the years.

She has been a tireless volunteer and coordinator of many of our Rebel Legion events and is always the first to offer her time and talents for so many good causes.

Katherine’s injuries are life changing and she will need help as she recovers and tries to return to anything like her normal life. While still very early into her recovery, it is anticipated that she will be unable to return to work for an extended period of time as she heals.

Katherine’s recovery will be a long process and she will have needs not even identified yet. This has happened at a particularly bad time as she’d just recently moved to take a new job, and is facing recovery in a new place away from her support system of family and friends. She needs support right now; please consider helping in any way you can.

I’ll post updates as I am able and will also be posting soon about a campaign to collect messages of encouragement and well wishes from her Legion family to keep her spirits up and let her know we’re all thinking of her.
