Hello Friends,
At this time, My three sister's and I, are reaching out to our friends and family in support, to fulfill Kathie's (Mommy's) end of life wishes and to provide her with a memoral she deserves.
On April 6,th 2019 our mommy was diagnosed with stage 4 non-hodgkins B lymphoma. That was the day she began to fight for life. Her and her medical team at Skagit Cancer Center, worked and fought, and won many battles. On March 11, 2023, Kathie had arranged and helped create a beautiful wedding for her eldest granddaughter. Preparing wedding cakes from scratch, and bringing the most living, full, bright smile you have ever seen.
On March 15, 2023, the results of her most recent PT scans were available to her and her Doctor. They decided, that day, to release her from his care and admit to her hospice.
She did her best, with an AMAZING attitude, laughing all the time, smiling making jokes and finding the best! (This comes very naturally to our mommy.)
On April 5th, she didn't wake up as well as the previous days, and as the day progressed, we became aware that this is our new normal for a while.
Our Hospice nurse came by and told us, our Mommy has days/hours. We did everything we could, with the support of our mommy's amazing friends, to assist her to her final resting place. ❤️
In the mean time, My sister's are in need of support with just maintaining the household bills, and needs of themselves
and their infant/toddler school age children. We are prepared to balance whatever comes our way, however, what support we receive, is welcomed and appreciated.
Our Mommy, Kathie, was a super nova of a woman. She cared for nurtured her loved ones, children, spouse and disenfranchised community members with all of her heart. She worked hard, always showed up, with a smile and sense of humor. She was incredibly wise and intuitive. In the last decade of her life, she was employed with Pioneer Transition Home, where she worked feverishly to take care of all those folks who just needed a hand up. She was the pillar of strength, love, and understanding, for her children and so many others. Making an effort for those who struggled, was her passion. Regardless of "your struggle" she would love unconditionally. ❤️ She has many accolades and awards for her work with human service in the Skagit Valley.
The Valley is her home, she always cared to do her best to take care of it. She began her new journey, in the early morning hours of April 7, 2023.
There are many wet eyes in the Valley today as, she will be very sorely missed.
We are needing to provide the end of life care, at this time is upwards to $5000.00. In the meantime, our youngest sister gave birth on March 8th, her new baby is in need of daily necessities as is her toddler and our nephews. Utilities require their attention as well as other financial entities.
I want to thank everyone that has been so loving and helpful to my, mother, sister's and I. All of your support and presence, has been invaluable.
We are again, so very Grateful!
Love,
