Kathleen Sweeney's Memorial Service

Kathleen Sweeney was a devoted, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. On October 11th, she lost her life after fighting a failing mitral valve replacement. Her passing was a huge shock to our family, as we had only just started seeing symptoms a little over a month ago. She had surgery to fix the valve set to be done in November, but over the last few weeks began to decline rapidly and was told she was no longer a candidate and needed to be transferred to hospice. She passed away about 4 days later. Our grandma fought hard until the end to be there for her family members as they each flew in to say goodbye. Our grandma was the bravest, strongest, and most remarkable woman we’ve ever known. She gave all of herself to her family and loved us all unconditionally. Although none of us wanted this, we know she has finally been reunited with her daughter, husband, parents, and siblings on the other side.

Colin Sweeney, our father, is the last surviving member of her immediate family, and while he has the support and love from his daughters, former wife, cousins, and aunts/uncles, this is a huge burden to carry. He has not been able to be employed while taking care of his mom and does not possess the funds to give her the service that she deserves. We are asking our dearest friends and family members for financial support to cover her funeral costs during this time. A contribution of any kind would mean the world to the Sweeney family as we cope with this sudden loss.
