My name is Emily. As I write this I am

sitting with her Father Pat and her son. I was “Mama” to Katie and Grammy to her two children , Dylan Kali. Katie is the child of Pat and Teri, but I became Mama to Katie when she was very young. I only include that so there’s an understanding of the relationship.

Katie passed away Tuesday, March 19th at Maine Medical center following a brief illness. We don’t have all the answers about what happened but we do know that our Katie is gone , leaving behind her two young children , siblings that love her and are heartbroken, and devastated parents. We need to raise funds to put her to rest in the most respectful, proper, beautiful way as it’s what she and her babies deserve. It will also be used to take care of anything her children need during this horrible time. Given the circumstances, her young age, and the last few years of her efforts to stay healthy for her babies, This was a shock to all of us. We were not prepared to have to lay her to rest right now. We appreciate the outpouring of love that we have already received, we love you all. Katie would be embarrassed and mad at me but, it would make her heart so full to see how many people truly loved her. Please do not feel obligated to donate, but anything will help.
