Hi, my name is Cori and I’m starting a gofundme for my friend Kathryn. Recently she had to have emergency decompression fusion surgery on her C-5, C-6 and C-7 vertebrae in her spinal cord. Her spinal fluid wasn’t able to pass through. Her legs and arms went numb and she wasn’t able to walk freely. She could have become paralyzed had she not gone in when she did. A week prior she went to the ER for shooting pain in her legs and arms and was sent home saying it was just inflammation.

As we know by now, that was not the case. Kat ended up having surgery through her neck to her spine and spending 7 days at Methodist Hospital with extensive care. She is currently living with her sister in Chaska getting care. She is unable to drive and learning motor skills through physical therapy.

Kat has been in the service industry as a server for 20+ years and will be out of work for up to 3 months completing physical therapy to learn to walk again. It may take up to 2 years for her to regain feeling in all her limbs.

I am starting this gofundme to help her through tough financial times without working. She still has bills to pay and a large medical bill on top of that, all very unexpected.

This will be a significant hardship for her since she is unable to work.
