Kathy Amezcua, Costa Sur’s Angel, needs our help
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser I never dreamed I would have to create! But here I am…
When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, it was the most terrifying moment of my life. When the doctor told us it was end-stage, inoperable, metastatic cancer that had traveled to her liver, lungs, bladder, rectum, small intestines, and peritoneum and that her life expectancy was “months,” my heart broke into a million pieces.
I am Erica Tapia (Mendez). My mom is Kathy Amezcua. She is “Mom,” “Kitty,” “doña Katalina,” La Güera,” and “Wela.” She is my rock!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my mom, Kathy Amezcua, organized a GFM for the Costa Sur employees. She was able to gather almost $100,000 in donations from the Costa Sur family, and distribute those funds to the employees. She did the same when Juan Carlos, the bellboy, was sick as well as when Arturo needed help with his medical treatments, which saved his life.
Now, she needs your help.
As far as she is concerned, “months” is not an acceptable estimate, and she is fighting to extend her life. She is determined to face this battle head-on, with the positive attitude we all know and love her for.
I am asking for your help. My mom is a warrior, fighting this with everything she has. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She is also exploring alternative treatments, both in and outside of the US.
Cancer not only takes a toll on a person’s physical health but can also pose huge financial challenges. I have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will help my mom navigate the financial burdens associated with this medical journey. Funds will be used for medical treatments not covered by insurance, hospital stays, clinical trials, travel expenses, and other unforeseen expenses.
Let's come together as a community to support Kathy in her fight against cancer. Your generosity and kindness will not only provide financial relief but will also serve as a beacon of hope for her and her family.
I appreciate your support for Kathy during this challenging time.
All donations are greatly appreciated and no amount is too small.
We will post updates frequently.
