Kathy girl
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Devon and I want to help raise money for my sister, Jordan, and her fiance, Bridget.
In 2017, Jordan and Bridget found Kathy abandoned tied to a park bench in west LA. They took her in, cleaned her up, and got her checked out at the vet with the hope to get her rescued by someone they knew was looking for a dog. However, they immediately fell in love with her, agreeing to keep her despite all of her medical conditions (overweight, skin allergies, ear infections, enlarged liver, potential narcolepsy, etc., the list goes on). We can only imagine the abuse Kathy endured leading up to the moment they found her but she sure did live the dream since that day; traveling the country, eating carrots and getting endless cow belly rubs. Jordan and Bridget loved Kathy probably more than anyone else on the planet and were able to give her 5 more of the best years of all of their lives.
Anyone who knows Jordan and Bridget knew and loved Kathy too. On New Year's day, Kathy began experiencing difficulty breathing, dizziness, and coughing attacks so she was admitted to the Emergency Room. At first, it was suspected that she had pneumonia and was only going to stay one night. Then the doctor soon diagnosed her with pulmonary hypertension and chronic lower airway inflammation. He explained that this was becoming a crisis situation but remained optimistic. She stayed in the hospital for 5 days and was given oxygen. During this stay, she had numerous treatments including but not limited to antibiotics, fluids, an oxygen chamber, blood thinners, blood pressure medication, and a nasal oxygen tube. The day Jordan and Bridget were supposed to take her home, Kathy experienced worsened systems that ultimately led to her inability to breathe on her own. She had to be put down quickly and unexpectedly. Kathy was an extremely special dog and I am so lucky to have spent time with her. I know Jordan and Bridget would have done anything for her, including making the heartbreaking choice to end her suffering. Unfortunately, this left them with broken hearts and a tremendous hospital bill of almost $15,000.
If you can contribute with a donation, It would be greatly appreciated.
