Kathy McVay

Our beloved Kathy McVay recently passed on Thursday, February 9, 2023, due to an unexpected infection that unfortunately developed into sepsis. Kathy was a wonderful Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife and Friend to many, who touched the lives of those around her in such a memorable way! She leaves behind her loved ones Mary Colleen McVay, Larry Pullega, Tom Wolski and Thor. Kathy was preceded by her brothers Bill, Ken and her parents Julia and Harry.

Kathy dedicated her life to early childhood education, with a passion and focus on students with special needs. Although she never had children, she was motherly to many nieces, nephews and her friends' children. Kathy loved nature, animals and the great outdoors. She enjoyed attending live music events and Heart was her favorite musical group.

We are all devastated by the loss of Kathy and were not prepared for the high cost of cremation and final expenses. We want to give Kathy the memorial she deserves, honor her memory and say our last goodbyes.

We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Kathy’s cremation, celebration of life and additional expenses that will arise during this unexpected time. We are hoping to raise $10,000 by Monday, March 6, 2023, to be able to afford the cremation, celebration of life and other expenses.

We have a celebration of Kathy’s life scheduled on Sunday, March 12, 2023, 11am-3pm at the Woodstock VFW located at 240 N. Throop St. Woodstock, IL 60098.
