Kathy Snyder Memorial Scholarship

My Mom passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, with my Dad and me at her side. Following more than five years of health struggles and suffering, she retired peacefully.

We celebrated her life on Friday, August 27, at the Berkshire Country Club, where my parents have held membership 41 years. That’s more than a third of the club's 122 year history. In addition to the place and the members, the staff of the Berkshire are like an extension of our family.

When reflecting on my Mom's love for the children of the Berks County community and for the staff of the Berkshire, my wife, Chiara Potenza, and I came up with an idea: a way for my Mom's legacy to live on. Chiara and I seeded this scholarship fund in my Mom's name for the children of the staff of the Berkshire. We are incredibly grateful to my Dad, Jim Snyder, Club President Ken Christian and Club Manager Paul Bovenzi for their support. It is Chiara's and my hope that through this scholarship, my Mom's spirit of giving and caring will continue long after she's gone.
