Kathy Cook Alz Healthcare Fund

My mom, Kathy Cook was diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer's in 2011 at the age of 55. It has been a devastating and heartbreaking situation for the last several years. My family has made the difficult but necessary decision to move my mother to a memory care center. Memory care centers are different than nursing homes and provide a better environment to live in for those with Alzheimer's and other related dementia diseases. However, these facilities have proven to be very costly. In order for my mother to be taken care of in a memory care home, the cost is approximately $50,000/year. Because I was required to put a specific goal amount I have listed a 5 year goal. There are also some other expenses for necessary medical supplies and medications each month. Early onset Alzheimer's brings on many difficult financial situations because of her young age. My family is doing what we can to provide financially for my mother's care, but we have had several friends and family ask what they could do to help. So we have set up the Kathy Cook Heathcare Fund to provide a place for others to help donate for her care. Whether it's a one time donation, or a monthly donation, any little bit helps. There is no such thing as too small of a donation. We appreciate anything and everything that is donated to my mother's care. None of the money will go to my family personally.
