Hello Dear Friends of Katia! The time has come for Katia to finally take the space she needs, to dive into her own deep listening and nourishment, and gently pull forth the work her soul is longing to create.
For 35+ years, since her mother’s passing, Katia has been on a deep spiritual path, and in the last 25 years, she’s been bringing it through her work – with Ghost River Rediscovery’s International Indigenous Youth Leadership program, through The Ecology of Leadership, for the Dalai Lama Fellows, in her classes at the University of Toronto, Waterloo, MIIS and Stanford, and in her many retreats and programs including FLOURISH and SOURCE …
It’s been a full and busy few decades, doing all this work, while raising babies (now teenagers!), navigating divorce and new love and another baby (now 5!), getting her MBA & PhD, and holding the immense financial load of even a simple life in the Bay Area. There has never been space for a break, even after the birth of her youngest. Add years of long-covid on top of postpartum recovery, autoimmune disease, and other compounding stressors… it’s a lot.
Somehow, amidst the much-ness of it all, so much has been created.
But in the relentless demands of caregiving and earning, what hasn’t been birthed is a lot of the deep creative work that Katia is here to offer – including a book and a land-based center to hold this body of work.
Having space from the stress of keeping up with basic expenses, would allow Katia to enter her creative cave, receive the deep rest needed to be nourished, and codify the earned wisdom of her 30+ years of spiritual questing, learning, and guiding,
Now is the time for us as Katia’s community to support her in having this SPACE that is dearly needed, so she can step back and harvest the bounty of the seeds she’s been planting all these years, to be rested and supported and nourished, and bring forward her deep legacy work.
We understand that there are so many urgent and worthy causes to give to in these times, so this ask is a tender one. And, we also understand that the world is made better when mothers are nourished, and when matriarchal leaders are supported in their visions.
This offering of support to Katia is a stand for both her nourishment as a mother, and for her vision to activate next-generation leaders to move in regenerative ways. It is also our stand for collective care, and the liberatory act of creating culture from the ground-up.
With community support, we are hoping to give Katia 6 months of space to create for the collective. We hope you will consider conspiring with us :)
