Hi my name is Mandy.

I am raising funds in memory of our amazing friend Katie who lost her battle to a brain tumour on Saturday 9th December 2023 At the age of 31.

The funds in which I hope to raise will be split between a memorial for Katie and the 2 charities close to all our hearts.

St Peters Hospice who went above and beyond in caring not just for Katie but her family and friends too in the final months.

Katie was a inspiration to us all. She was a women who wouldn't let anything stand in her way.

She had a smile that would light the room, an infectious laugh and most of all the voice of reason.

Katie fought against her brain tumour who she had named Timmy for 10years even though she was given a shorter time.

In the 10 years Katie achieved so much she was an amazing wife to her husband Paul, a loving and doting mother to their daughter Chloe and an outstanding friend.

Katie loved caravanning and ballooning and her battle never stopped her doing what she loved.

She attended balloon meets in her caravan with her husband Paul, daughter Chloe and her friends by her side.

Katie flew the remote control hot air balloon model on the balloon team and she even gave piloting the full size hot air balloon a go which she was a natural at.

She continued doing what she loved right up to the last few months. She attended Midlands Air Festival in June a week before her fight got harder.

In August she attended Bristol International Balloon Fiesta with help from St Peters Hospice so she could see her passion and friends.

Katie's final flight of the rc model hot air balloon was whilst at St Peter’s Hospice in Brentry Bristol with the biggest smile on her face as she explained to the nursing staff what was happening.

Katie will always be in our hearts and will always be a big part of our Ballooning family.

The team and I will be taking part in the cross channel hot air balloon event where will fly from England to France.

The team have many other events but every flight and event will be in honor of Katie.

I will be flying in honour of Katie

and I know she will be with me every step of the way as the support she gave me will never fade away.
