Katie Butler Herman

Katie Herman has been diagnosed with congenital heart failure. If you’ve ever met Katie, you know how loving, strong, stubborn, and independent she is. This diagnosis is not easy for Katie, family and friends to digest.

Katie is 35. She is a mother of two beautiful children, Lucy (11) and Jude (9). Katie started experiencing symptoms of heart failure in March of 2022, the symptoms handicapped her from being able to work full time starting in May 2022 and she had to quit her job at the beginning of July 2022. Katie was going to school to become a nurse. She is a natural caretaker and I know she would have made the best nurse! I wish this dream/goal of hers could have become a reality. But the reality now is that she just needs to focus on surviving and being there for her children as long as she can be. We hope Katie has another 5 years, but the reality is that it could be less than a year.

In a time like this, watching a disease steal the life from a loved one, finances are not something that should also be adding stress and hardship. Katie’s family and friends are asking for donations to help financially for medical bills and living expenses. Thank you for your support.
