Help Katie get an Ironman leg!

Katie is a dear friend of mine and fellow military spouse and kickball and basketball aficionado. She also is a homesteader of sorts and had lots of llamas and chickens and sheep and makes the best homemade bread!
Just last year, AS SHE WAS SET TO UPROOT HER FAMILY for a cross country PCS, she was working with her llamas in her backyard and tripped and had a horrible accident.
She had a compound fibula and tibia break with a Pilon fracture with a dislocation.
If you look up these breaks or talk to doctors, most people don’t do this just walking in her backyard. She has had numerous painful surgeries and is in for year and years of PT.
Unfortunately, even though she doesn’t make any complaints and she is fighting hard as can be, she has debilitating pain daily. She also has three young, active kids to chase while her husband is still active duty working special, demanding work.
FORTUNATELY, Katie has been approved to get a new bionic leg of sorts!! This is a newer technology developed to get military personnel injured during combat and almost amputees back up and back to active duty! (IDEO/EXOSYM it was called the IDEO in the military and EXOSYM in the civilian world).
Katie, thankfully, has also been chosen for it! She can start to get her life back to normal.
Why she needs our help is that she has to fly to Washington state, only place on the world she can get this done, and go through weeks of PT AND it’s a $10,000 prosthetic. Tricare won’t cover any of it!
Even if it’s a few bucks to help cover flights or food while she stays in Washington, we thank you in advance for any help in getting Katie back to the active life with her kids and be rid of the debilitating pain she rarely talks about out loud .
