Katie Malone’s Medical Fund

My sister, and your family member or friend, Katie Malone was in a tragic parasailing accident while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. A typical parasailing ride is normally 10 minutes.  She was stuck inside a storm fearing for her life when the parachute line broke.  This disaster had her up in the air for 45 minutes until she crashed into the Puerto Vallarta airport, next to an alligator of all things(no joke).

She suffered many injuries...
• Fractured Pelvis, Skull & 4 ribs
• Collapsed lung
• Multiple face injuries
• Bleeding into the lung.

Katie is now 1 year into her recovery and is doing so great getting back to normal life.  She is walking, even biking, and spending time with her dog Leroy Brown.

All money raised will be going towards Katie's long recovery including Medical Bills & Physical Therapy.

***7/10/18**
With Congress & friends we got an air ambulance for Katie to UCSD!!

Katie is out of the Hospital! Due to constant support from friends & family we’ve been able to be the biggest cheerleaders for Katie.
She is now out of the hospital but has quite a few appointments per week (very expensive) to look forward to help her on her road to recovery.

***6/25/18***
She received surgery on Saturday 6/23 that repaired her broken jaw, broken cheek & face. Some titanium and mesh, 14 screws. That surgery alone is $21,000.00
Her current bill is estimated at $43,000.00.
Due to her pituitary gland being enlarged due to the head trauma the doctors here believe they’ve had the best to help Katie and have had surgeons from all over Mexico just for her operations, they have highly suggested for us to life flight/air ambulance Katie back to the states so that she can be scene/operated by someone who specializes in the pituitary gland.
We now need the expenses for a life flight back home for Katie. These are not cheap for someone who doesn’t have insurance. Ball park for to and from hospital and airport plus medical bed and nurse on hand $20,000+

Katie is in good spirit and has her humor back! It’s gonna be a long road of recovery, Please continue the prayers, kind thoughts and positive energy towards Katie, she needs all the support we can give her!
