Katie, the sweetest red nosed pittie ever

This is for friends of mine. Sharon and I have been friends since kindergarten. We now have gray hair ;). She and her family love dogs. Katie is a rescue who spent 3 years mostly in a cage after she was surrendered and before Sharon and family adopted her. Even after that, she is the sweetest, most lovable dog who bonded almost instantly with Sharon's son, Travis. They are nearly inseparable.

After a visit to the ER at the beginning of January because of weight loss and vomiting, she is, so far, still undiagnosed. The veterinarians are still trying to find out why her body is not absorbing nutrients. Why she is vomiting. Why her belly isn't draining. She has an NG tube and now a stomach tube for draining.

Because there is no visible obstruction on the xrays, the doctors are calling it uncommon and weird. She is now in exploratory surgery in an effort to diagnose her properly.

In only a month the bills are totaling over $9,000. This is obviously quite a hardship for a family. But they will do almost anything to find out what is wrong and get her better. Her pack needs her back.
