Katie was in a horrific atv accident

Hi my name is Justine i've started a fundraiser for Katie Vendrasco. Katie is a great friend/ daughter/ sister/ colleague and mom. She has a big heart and cares deeply for others.

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, Katie was in a terrible ATV accident while in Gaylord, MI, which resulted in her breaking her left arm in two places and right leg. She required two emergency surgeries where a rod was installed in her leg, and 3 plates and over 10 screws in her arm. The doctor has advised the breaks will take approx 6 months to heal and to learn to walk again and will need physiotherapy, occupational therapy, home modifications, and other medical supplies (Walker, etc.) while healing.

Katie is a single mother to Adrianna, dog mom to Guinness who works as a Correctional Nurse in Detroit, MI; however she is expected to be off work for at least 6 months causing a suffer in loss of wages.

Donations will assist Katie with extra medical costs and monthly bills. Any amount contributed is greatly valued. If you aren’t in a position to help financially, all thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

update 8/4/23- Katie is at home awaiting a hospital bed with Guinnes by her side pics on FB. Beginning tomorrow, Physio will attend to help her learn how to walk again and hopefully get up those pesky steps and a Personal Support Woker will attend to assist with activities such as bathing, changing etc.

Thanks to your donations, Katie's Greenshield monthly bill of 273 for the coverage for these services will be covered this month along with Rent and Groceries for her and Adrianna for a few weeks . Update Jan 2024- Well 5 surgeries down and the arm is still healing! Irrigation and debridement of left arm in October, irrigation and debridement of left arm and removal of olcreanon plate in left arm in December. Apparently, all hardware needs to be removed in arm due to infection; waiting for bones to fully heal. Follow up in 6 weeks with ortho surgeon.
