Katie's Cardiff Half Marathon for the Alzheimer's Society

Hello, I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon on the 6th of October 2024 in support of the Alzheimer's Society. In 2022 we lost my lovely grandpa Malcolm who had the early signs of dementia. He was very passionate about supporting research into dementia and ways to help those who suffer from the disease so I will be running in memory of him and all of the wonderful ways he impacted our lives. The Alzheimer's Society is a wonderful charity which provides support to those who have dementia, funds research into dementia, and works to amplify the voices of those living with dementia. Dementia is currently the UK's biggest health and social care crisis and 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime, so your donation will go a long way.

As I am not a runner, this is also a great personal challenge which I look forward to embracing and I will keep this page updated with my progress!
