Anorexia- Kat's Recovery

I am 26 years old and have been dealing with an eating disorder for about 7.5years now. I am 5'5 and my weight has dropped into the 90's and continues to decrease. I do not like to ask for help this way but the anorexia is destroying my life and the suffering is unbareable. Anorexia Nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder. I cannot work. I was going to be a Registered Nurse but had to drop out of school due to my illness. I am very much in need of a higher level of treatment other than outpatient. However that level of care is not available to me due to finances and my insurance company refusing to help. I have been inpatient 3 times and it has done nothing due to the limits of my insurance company and now I have no benefits left. They allow me very few inpatient (IP) days per year and it is based on cost, not progress. Right now I need residential treatment (RT) or a partial hospitalization program (PHP) just because it's better than nothing and TriCare won't put a penny towards it, period. I am severely in need of RT, which is a stay of months. The average cost is $30,000 a month for an RT center, many places it's even more. Currently, I am asking for $35,000 to cover treatment at a PHP and a place to stay because I realize $80,000  is A LOT to ask. I am still hoping to find a way for RT because I truly need that higher level of care. I also have to self-pay for my outpatient dietician because my insurance company thinks Anorexia Nervosa is a lifestyle choice, this is something they actually said to me. I desperately WANT to get better and need this treatment, too. I want to advocate for those who are in my situation once I am better, no one should have to go through this.  Even the smallest donation or spreading the word would help. My husband and I would be so appreciative. Self payment has become my one and only option, it would mean so much for help me on journey to get treatment and to become the Katrina I used to be.
