Kat's Fund for Medical Trip

Hi I’m Kat and on the 24th of September 2016, I married Harry on Gozo, Malta, the wedding was intimate and beautiful, the best day of my life.


Three weeks later I was diagnosed with a very rare form of liver cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). This had spread to my bones and lungs almost immediately. So far, I have undergone 6 months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy but recent developments has seen the disease spread to my brain.


I am in the lucky position where I am eligible for a targeted drug that is coming over from the US, however, there is no guarantee that this drug will work.


This is where I need your support, as I am looking to spend a month in a treatment centre in Germany, as soon as I am well enough to travel. I am currently recovering from having a GI feeding tube fitted to build up my strength.


On the 8th July I turn 36. It is amazing that I am still here, every day is a blessing, but I am not ready to rollover and quit just yet.


Cancer is a daily fight and I am asking for your help in beating this thing as technological advances are so close, the doctors have said that if they could keep me alive for 5 years then a cure should be available. Well, I am three months away from having made it through a year and I hope that this year will make all the difference, with your support.


Some of you have lived this with me every day, some of you have helped as much and as often as you can, some will have wished they could have done more and some of you probably won't even know me but hopefully this story, will inspire you to help further.
