Kats running the London Marathon...
I've been keeping a little secret....
Next year, on Sunday, 27th April, I am running the London Marathon for The Firefighters Charity.
Now if you know me well, you will know that last year prior to October I HATED running, so much so that even if I saw it on the Crossfit WOD I would be full of anxiety and usually would cancel the session. I never in a million years thought I would ever use the words 'I'm just going for a run'
What changed? Well, as Tylers condition has deteriorated, he has lost the ability to run unaided, and now can only do it with his walking frame. It breaks me, he loved running around, would take part in school sports days and give it 2000% even if he fell, he would get up and crack on. I was embarrassed that I couldn't run, and so I've told myself that I need to run, I need to run because Tyler can't and I need to make him proud.
So here we are, I've been running since October, and I challenge myself, believe me when I say the mental side of it is harder than the physical side of it. The furthest I've ran to date is 11.9 miles on a coast to coast, so this is a massive challenge for me.
The Firefighters Charity were there for me when last year I was struggling mentally with the decline of Tyler and Eryns health and this is my chance to give back. So please, if you can dig deep and help me hit my £2500 target.
