Hi!

Thank you for clicking on my face, and giving me a moment of your time to pitch my project to you, and hopefully get your help in making it become a fully-fledged reality!

Where do we start?! 

THE CONCEPT

We all live with a voice in our head, directing us and helping us figure out what we should do. Sometimes it’s big stuff, like “Should I move in with this guy?” Sometimes it’s little stuff, like “Am I wearing deodorant?” Katy and Katherine have always been my self-talk alter egos. People will often ask to speak to one or the other if they’re not getting the answer they want! I am Katy and I am Katherine, sometimes funny, sometimes confused, sometimes angry … but always wanting to make it through the day without crying or crashing the car. 

“Hi, My Name Is.…” gives us the chance to celebrate and embody the parts of ourselves we all speak to and argue with everyday. It is an exploration of what it means to be truly ourselves and who we “get” to be when we have no clue what that even means. Through frank and honest storytelling, Katy and Katherine unravel and reveal what it means to be a whole broken person.

THE CAUSE

This is where you, my friends, fellow artists, and folks I’ve never met come in.

As you can imagine, trying to work as an artist in the machine we call Capitalism means my funds are disproportionately split between staying alive, feeding my cat, and living my art. So I need your financial help. 

Fringe Festivals provide a wonderful platform for first-time artists like me to showcase our work in a way we otherwise wouldn’t get to. Production costs include: hiring a director, stage manager, publicist, and other production costs (posters, costumes, advertising); travel and per diem for each festival; and, ensuring there are enough garbage bags for me to wear. 

THE BUDGET

I believe in 100% transparency, and donors should know exactly where their money is going: 

$1,500 for festival production fees (performance confirmation fee ~ $500 each festival)

$1,000 for marketing/promotion 

$1,500 for travel/housing costs (~ $500 each festival)

$850 honorariums for creative team (~ $275 each)

$150 GoFundMe processing fees
