Kawana Dolphins Supports Paul Cohen

Donation protected
After experiencing a series of small strokes, Paul Cohen 35, a Kawana Rugby League legend has been diagnosed with one closed artery in his brain and one 50% closed. Following an extensive series of tests to try to ascertain what's been going wrong, Paul (Ed) goes back into Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney on Wednesday to have a neurosurgical procedure (an Extracranial to intracranial bypass). The other artery will be closely monitored with bypass surgery to address that problem more than likely at a later date.
Even though Paul has private health cover the 'gap' is substantial. Plus there are mounting costs associated with accommodation and travel for his wife Casey and their two boys.
I want to make it clear that Paul did not come to us for help, we approached him. I have known Paul and his family for many years coaching Paul at Kawana Rugby League. He is a proud young man who feels uncomfortable about asking for any type of assistance. However, this turn of events, that came on the back of a beautiful family holiday and a memorable surf off Kawana, has changed Paul's life dramatically. There are so many unknowns to face and no doubt more surgery is likely. Lifting the financial burden would certainly help Paul to be totally focused on recovery and not having to be worried about the next payment. If you can contribute to our Kawana Rugby League fundraising drive to help out our mate, it would be enormously appreciated. All money raised by Go Fund Me will be sent to a Bank account organized by Kawana Rugby League and then will be forwarded directly to Paul and Casey.
