Kayak for veterans on Lake Michigan 2024

Well I’m working on my go fund me page for my annual kayak trip 2024. I will have flyers made and put around Grand Rapids area, and also online. the donation this year is going towards (Stop,) (Soldier,) (Suicide,) SSS. I’m looking to raise $1,500 by the time of my trip if not more. 22 a day, is just too many, so please, donate.

You will need is your own kayak, and kayak gear, if you want to join and don’t have a kayak please contact Bill & Paul’s sport house at 1 (616) [phone redacted] and tell them about the trip, that you want to rent a kayak, and you want to join Marko on his trip. I know people who want to join on this trip, and I know some people from B&Ps who want to join if they can.

22 veterans kill them selves every day and the numbers are growing. It’s too many veterans. Too many good hearted people. they served so we can live free, and live as a strong nation. This is truly heartbreaking. Mental illness is a true thing in our nation, and it needs to be better. If you know someone hurting and needs help please call 988. There is help I promise don’t give up.

I do this trip every year on Lake Michigan on Memorial Day this year it will be on the Saturday on memorial day weekend not Monday. 05/25/2024. If weather doesn’t permit. I be going on thorn apple river. In Caledonia Michigan. And head down stream to Cascade. Please be there at 7:30 am.

You will have to sign a waver. It will state that I am not responsible for damage. It will also state that if you are being irresponsible. I am not going to be sued for it. It will ask do you have all the safety equipment. As in personal flotation device, Or life vest. DNR and aquatic rules state you must have a flotation device. In any floating vessel including non motor. That is kayaks and canoes.

All the proceeds that is being made will and only go towards SSS (stop soldier suicide). If you want to join it will $5 donation on the day of the of the paddle. I will have a QR code for you to scan on your phone, or you can pay in cash. If you don’t wanna join and just wanna donate, I will have flyers it will have a QR code. out at different stores, different businesses in Grand Rapids, and in the West Michigan area.
