Kaya's Leukemia Journey Round 3

In June 2023, we got the news that our SuperHero Kaya, has relapsed again.

This is now her 3rd journey with Leukemia, and after having a Bone Marrow Transplant last November, Kaya's care team has decided to head a different direction, and have Kaya recieve what is called CAR-T Cell Therapy- which is basically the retrieval of cells that will he taken, manufactured to target and destroy the Leukemia Cells and B-Cells in general, and replaced back into Kaya's body via infusion.

Kaya will also need surgery to implant a new PICC Line in which the T- Cells will be infused, and she may also need her 3rd Port installed.

We will again be in Minneapolis for the procedure, and at least 4 weeks following- 2 of which will be spent inpatient in the Children's Hospital as Kaya is monitored for any side effects.

We're told CAR-T Cell Therapy can be very successful, but it does take a bit for insurance to approve.

Any money donated will be used for traveling back and forth from Minneapolis for procedures leading up to the CAR-T, plus lodging and any additional medical expenses or medicines not covered by insurance, and any unforeseen costs.

While we are heartbroken that our girl has to once again go through this journey, she is THE STRONGEST Girl in the world, and we have all the confidence that she is going to knock this out of the park again and BEAT LEUKEMIA'S BUTT FOR GOOD!!!
