Kayd Hintz (Medical Expenses)

This GoFundMe has been started to provide financial help and support to Kayd Hintz and his family through the unfortunate recent changes Kayd is going through medically.

Kayd was in remission for almost 2 years come this October. Due to his genetic mutation TP53, Kayd undergoes routine scans throughout the year. A recent routine scan showed two spots on his brain and a cluster of blood cells on his lower spine.

This past week, Kayd went in to get a biopsy of the two spots and a spinal tap. The team of doctors have sent the biopsy to pathology for additional testing to see what stage his cancer is. With the results of his biopsy the family has confirm both brain tumors are reoccurrence of the aggressive Medullablastoma brain cancer.

The past few days, Kayd has taken a turn for the worse. At home, Kayd’s family realized that he was not speaking clearly and that he was having a hard time remembering things such as his name and his date of birth. Kayd was brought to the ER and eventually admitted into the ICU where more testing has been taking place. The doctors confirmed Kayd had been having mini seizures and also may have had a bacterial infection. During the last week Kayd has undergone biopsy surgery on his brain along with 2 spinal taps.

He will also undergo a port placement surgery and start his 12 month chemotherapy fight for a second time around.

This GoFundMe has been started to ask family, friends, and strangers to help Kayd and his family with medial expenses and to help cover the cost of bills.
