Kayden’s Miracle

On November 1st we brought Kayden into Urgent Care as he wasn't feeling well and he was struggling to breath. He had all the symptoms of croup. The Physician at Urgent Care looked at him and said there was nothing wrong with him but prescribed a medicine for drainage and send us on our way. Kayden wasn't getting any better. We took Kayden to a  children's Hospital in Arizona on November 2nd at 10 pm. He had respiratory distress the entire time. They finally took him back to check him out. They gave him a steroid shot and breathing treatment then put him on an oxygen mask. all of which wasn't working. He wasn't admitted to the hospital until 9am on November 3rd. He was finally taken to PICU in the afternoon and was put onto high flow oxygen through a nasal cannula. He started to get better and could breath easier. That is until the MD at the hospital decided to make the call to decrease his oxygen from 100% to 40% in a short amount of time. Kayden went right back into respiratory distress and within an hour the staff was rushing to do an emergency intubation. Because he had been struggling to breath that entire time, his airways were so closed off that the staff failed to intubate him twice before finally intubating him the third time.  During that whole process Kayden's oxygen levels were single digits for several minutes. Our precious 3 year old boy Kayden, suffered an anoxic brain injury and went into a coma at 8:30 pm November 3rd. This event has been devastating and heartbreaking for all who love him. Kayden was a super active little boy who participated in gymnastics, swimming, dance, and soccer.  He was full of life and loved life. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of so many people who have donated on our Facebook fundraiser, we have been able to start his recovery with Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment in New Orleans with Dr. Harch. The next step in Kayden’s very long journey to recovery is to start stem cell and laser treatments in both Orlando, Florida and Monterrey, Mexico. We know that Kayden is in God’s hand and Kayden’s family would be forever grateful for your prayers to the restoration of his health, “God did not promise Sun without rain, light without darkness, or joy without pain. God only promised us strength for the day when darkness comes our way”.
Any funds raised through this GoFundMe will allow Kayden to continue his journey of getting his life back with different treatments in Florida and Mexico. The funds will help allow our 3 year old little boy to be able to get the chance to walk again, talk again and be a healthy child again. It has been 66 days since we've heard his voice.
