Help Kayes By the River Staff Hurricane Relief
Donation protected
Friends of Kaye’s By The River, I am Lisa Durrett, Kaye and Don Reinhofer’s daughter.

Whether you know it as Kaye’s By The River or Kaye’s Kitchen, you have come to love it. Over the past 10 years, Kaye’s has become the lifeblood of Newland. Kaye and her staff have been there to support the community in so many ways.

Countless meals for the Avery High School football team, Thanksgiving Dinners for our first responders, or as a home for local community groups to meet. For many, Kaye’s is a must-stop when you come to the High Country, for others it has become a part of your weekly or even daily routine as you stop in for a cup of coffee and one of Rupie’s omelets. Maybe your go-to is the Brisket or the Tuscany, or it was Kaye’s Chicken Salad.

Perhaps dinner was your must-have, with Kaye’s Salmon and warm kale salad, or the Chicken Pot Pie. Many of you looked forward to our summer wine dinner series. Or better yet, it was the kick-off to your weekend with the Saturday Breakfast Buffet. One thing is certain, over the years Kaye’s has become that warm, welcoming home where you meet friends, bring family, maybe host a weekly group, or simply stop in to say hi to Kaye, Don, Tony, Mindy, Lisa, Rupie and the entire team.

As many of you know, the entire town of Newland and much of the beautiful High Country located in Avery County was devastated this week by catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. It will be a long road back for many businesses to rebuild, and unfortunately, Kaye’s By The River has been one of those businesses impacted. Just as importantly, most of the staff were also personally impacted by the storm.

Please help us by donating and showing your love and support for my mother and her hardworking employees.
All donations will be focused on providing financial relief for the staff who are without income while Kaye works to rebuild. Thank you so much!
