Kayla & Meg - A Love Story in the Making

Kayla is a 24-year-old fun-loving social butterfly who enjoys friends, family, music and being a part of Best Buddies. Born at just 24 weeks as one of two surviving triplets, and weighing only 1lb and 3 oz, Kayla established herself as a fighter right away…and has not stopped since! Faced with multiple disabilities such as Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy and Epileptic Seizure Disorder, Kayla struggles daily with mobility, lack of speech and basic tasks that we take for granted.

Meg is an adorable 24-week-old Bernadoodle who is also fun loving, enjoying her treats and exploring places with her new family. Meg was donated by Lillybees Poodles and Doodles in Bunnell, Florida to be a companion for Kayla and has been receiving obedience training from Russell’s K-9 Academy in Daytona Beach. It is Meg’s hope that she can be fully trained as a service dog for Kayla and be able to help her with daily tasks such as bringing her items, alerting to seizures, and providing emotional support, as well as sharing the joy of being each other’s companion.

Best Buddies at Titusville High School and Best Buddies of Central Florida are teaming up to help raise money for the service training for Meg, but we need your help. Our goal is to raise $7,500 towards Meg’s Service Dog training program, where the cost of these specialized programs can exceed $10,000.
