Hello!
My name is Kayla and I am 16 years old. I am preparing for my first mission trip June 11-17, 2017. I am embarking on this trip for two reasons:
First is to help deaf children of the Jamaican Christian School for the Deaf who have little or no outside help in the world, as well as the Blossom Garden Child Center .
The second reason it is to allow me to grow and to fully experience that there are many people less fortunate in this world.
While in Jamaica, I will be doing many things. I will be doing some hands on concrete masonry work to help fix buildings for the children to learn and live. I will also help lead the children’s bible school for the week I am there.
The mission trip is organized by Chase Oaks Church in Fairview, TX. Mission Discovery helps organize and oversee the safety and transportation in Jamaica.
More information is included below. I pray that you consider making a donation. Any amount will help me reach my goal of $1,750.
Even if I do not raise enough to go, any amounts received can be used to help with the schools wish list .
Your donation:
My $1750 goal will cover travel (which is the largest amount of the cost), housing, and food costs. Our construction supplies will be provided once we reach our destination. Anything like gloves and personal items will need to be paid for by me once I am there. I plan to bring $250 to pay for my personal items. Mission Trip background:
Since 2011, Chase Oaks Church has taken teams to Montego Bay, Jamaica, partnering with Mission Discovery, working alongside the Jamaican Christian School for the Deaf . We have built a strong relationship with the school and the children, and they recognize us when we arrive. We typically do concrete work, helping to build different areas of their school campus, and we lead a Children’s Bible School. Our teams also have the opportunity to serve at Blossom Garden Children’s Home , Montego Bay’s city orphanage that houses over 70 children.

My name is Kayla Wissman and I live in Plano, Texas. I am a sophomore in high school and work part time at Chick-fil-A restaurant. I enjoy dancing and am trying to teach myself to play the keyboard and the ukulele. I am looking forward to being able to touch the lives of those less fortunate in Jamaica through this mission trip. I have read about areas outside the USA and think helping first hand would be a life changing experience. I think it is important to let children know that they are loved and that people care about them far and wide. Help should not be bound by distance.
