Kaylee Eggers 2024 Olympics Journey

Hi, my name is Theresa. I'm fundraising to help a remarkable young lady. This cause is important not only because Kaylee Eggers is worthy but because her journey has the opportunity to inspire so many young people. It will help them to realize that they have the power within themselves to accomplish their dreams. They are not held captive to their circumstances.

 

At 6, Kaylee had a dream to compete in the Olympics. In 10 years, she has won over one hundred races receiving 20 first place medals. She practices seven days a week in an Olympic-style pool at Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC) in Cary, North Carolina, which is 1,134 miles a week. Travel expenses are $1,000 a month and rising with fuel prices.

 

A straight “A” high school sophomore, Kaylee made the cut to participate in the Southern Region competition in Florida, May 11 – 13, 2022, against swimmers from eleven states. She is also striving to obtain a college scholarship. With her outstanding scholastic and swim records, recruiters will begin to follow her closely during the 2022 – 2023 freshman school year. Now is a critical juncture in supporting her journey.

 

Since birth, Kaylee’s retired grandparents have raised her from an infant and funded 95% of her journey on a fixed income. The dream is significant, and as she achieves more, the expenses rise considerably. In addition to the ongoing travel expenses, there are membership fees, gear, professional suits, and entry fees.
