Kaylene Runs a Marathon (to raise $ for OCRF)

On the 5th of November 2023, I will be running the NYC Marathon. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I’ve decided this is the year to do it!

I am using this as an opportunity to raise money for ovarian cancer research. Here are the key points I’d like to convey about this absolutely cooked cancer:

- Ovarian Cancer is the most lethal reproductive cancer.
- There is no early detection test. NONE.

Its f$&@ed. This revolting disease has affected a lot of people close to me, including the person who has been my primary influence for living a healthy and active lifestyle. For this reason, I think this is the perfect opportunity to raise some funds to go towards ovarian cancer research.

I want to make it more interesting though - so here’s what I would like to do -

If you make a donation, you can pick a kilometre and a song (I usually do about two songs per kilometre). Kilometre 42 is reserved, but there’s a whole other 41km to choose from. This will then form my running playlist for the marathon!

If you do donate, tell me why you’ve chosen the song and if it’s dedicated to someone! All I ask is that it’s not a slow song, please don’t torture me!

F$&@ cancer!

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation Inc and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation Inc: The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is Australia's leading not for profit dedicated to funding national ovarian cancer research. Around 1,720 Australians will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year. Only 48% will survive beyond 5 years.
That's why the OCRF is fighting this disease in the lab. We fund research that will have the greatest impact on the largest number of Australian women and girls. Support research for those living with ovarian cancer today, and for future generations.
