Kathleen (Kay’s) Motor Neurone Disease Journey

Devastatingly our amazing, kind, beautiful sister Kathleen(Kay) has been diagnosed with Bulbar Onset Motor Neurone Disease.

Motor neurones control muscle activity like: Gripping ,Walking, Speaking, Swallowing and Breathing.

MND strikes people of all ages and currently there is no cure, however symptoms can be managed to help the person achieve the best possible quality of life.

We are a very close family and are all heartbroken.

Although many of Kathleen (Kay’s) friends have asked how they can help, due to the nature of the illness the ways are limited.

So we have decided to set up this GoFundMe page to allow people to donate to help,

Kathleen (Kay) and her 8 year old daughter Lúna to enjoy the time they have together without worrying about day to day financial issues. And maybe even to create some new memories for them to treasure.
