Kay's Vision: Macular Degeneration Treatment

We’re reaching out to ask for your support for our mom and nanny, Kay Myrick. She's been battling macular degeneration, a progressive eye condition that threatens her vision. It's been incredibly tough watching her struggle with this, and the limited treatment options in Newfoundland have made it even harder.

Mom is the strongest person I know. She’s always been there for us, a constant source of love and support. Now, it's our turn to be there for her. Seeing her vision deteriorate and the constant worry about the future is heartbreaking.

We've recently discovered a promising new treatment called MacuMira, which is showing great success in slowing and even reversing the effects of macular degeneration. The funds we raise will go directly towards:

• $2,000 for the initial MacuMira onboarding treatment: This crucial first step is essential for her to begin regaining her vision.

• Approximately $1,200 for initial flights and travel expenses

• $1,500 for the first three follow up treatments: These follow up treatments will be ongoing and are required every 2-3 months at $500 each.

• Approximately $3,600 for follow up travel expenses: We are estimating for 3 trips, at $1,200 per trip for flights and travel expenses for the next twelve months.

Our goal is $8000 to help with the estimated first year of treatments and expenses.
