On Tuesday, July 21st Joanne was in a bad car accident in North Bedeque, PEI and she was transported to the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, where they stabilized her, induced a coma and then airlifted her to Halifax to undergo surgery and treatment for her injuries. Injuries which included; a broken clavicle, 9 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, fractured skull, damage to her spleen, shattered pelvis, both hips crushed, as well as bruises and lacerations all over her face and body. Her heart stopped but her will to live did not, our Jo is a fighter, and she managed to pull through. She now has a very long road of recovery ahead of her, and she is determined to walk again, even sooner than the doctors anticipate!

Joanne was working her seasonal job at the Deckhouse in Summerside, but now unfortunately she will not be able to return to work for the rest of this season. I am starting this page to help cover the cost of travel for her family to go to Halifax to see Joanne, as well as help covering Joannes cell phone bill so she can keep in contact with her children, family, and friends, and any leftover money will help cover the $150 bill for the ambulance that transported her from the accident to the Summerside hospital. Any little bit helps, even just sending a prayer would help so much. Joanne is a tough, strong woman, and she is already making great progress in her recovery. She has a positive attitude and is working hard to make it a speedy recovery. She has so many friends, and family ready to help her through this long journey she has ahead of her <3
