Natty's Dream to Go Home
Donation protected
Everyone has a different wish and we dream of things we hope or would like to do. For some it
may be taking a family vacation or they dream of visiting someplace they have never been.
Others may dream of seeing their favorite athlete play or joining their favorite performer on
stage. For Natty Sagy, that wish is to go back to her home and to be close to her mother and
father.
Natty Sagy was 36 years old and was a vibrant mother of two beautiful children Lior 8 & Eli 5.
She regularly hosted family and friends at her home, was active in her school and was adored by
all her friends and neighbors. But that all changed on July 4th 2010.
What started out as no different than any other day, with plans of seeing the fireworks and
excited to have a BBQ at her home with her sister’s family and some friends would be a day that
would change her life. Natty had no idea that this would be the last party she would ever plan or
host.
Shortly after waking that morning, Natty suffered a massive brain hemorrhage at the age of 36
and without any warning. She was found lying on the bathroom floor by her 5 year old son Eli.
Natty was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center where she had emergency surgery to stop the
bleeding. She had numerous follow up surgeries which removed the clusters of tangled blood
vessels that caused the hemorrhaging along with a portion of her brain. Thankfully, the doctors
were able to save Natty’s life. The surgeries however left Natty completely paralyzed. After 6
months of being in the hospital along with rehab, Natty finally came home. What is amazing
about Natty, although paralyzed in all her limbs and after numerous brain surgeries she still
speaks 3 languages and is fully cognizant of her surroundings. She keeps up with the news and
fully expresses herself, although Natty requires 24 hour care, which her husband Ithamar has
given to her over the past 5 years.
During this time, Natty often expressed her desire to return to Israel to be close to her mother,
father and extended family. Being a fulltime dad to Lior & Eli as well as a fulltime caregiver to
Natty, did not allow much time for Ithamar to work. The family has suffered tremendous
emotional stress and is now experiencing the financial stress a tragedy often brings. Ithamar has
held on for five years and would love nothing more than to give his wife the one thing she wants
most, to go back to her family in Israel. Unfortunately the family has exhausted all funds and
cannot afford the financial burden of the flight and housing for Natty to go to Israel. This family
is in need of help. They need funds to pay for the medical flight, accompanying medical
personnel as well as housing and medical care for her while in Israel. The Sagy family is
pleading for your help.
Any contribution you could offer the Sagy family to help Natty’s wish come true, would be so
greatly appreciated.
