Mark's Liver Transplant

My brother-in-law Mark (sister Rhiannon's husband) was diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis from undiagnosed NASH in early 2016. After numerous doctor appointments & tests, Mark was placed on the Liver Transplant list in May 2016. Mark has suffered from encephalopathy for the past year and after a fall in November 2016, which left him with a broken wrist and ribs, the doctors noted the encephalopathy had progressed and deemed him unsafe to drive or be left alone. He was hospitalized for most of this summer with his family by his side. Then by the powers that be, on August 12th Mark received his new liver!!

The Malboeuf Family has been so strong and incredibly brave throughout this whole ordeal. Mark still has a long road to recovery from the transplant. He will have weekly doctor appointments and blood work twice a week. And even with insurance, all the bills/co-pays add up from being out of work.
