Help Duke With Medical Expenses

When we met Duke for the first time it was through a non-profit organization's homeless outreach. Over the next several months we visited Duke at his camp under a bridge in the West Bottoms and had the pleasure of watching him overcome homelessness and many other obstacles.

From a life of hardship and obstacles that eventually caused him to be homeless. Duke has overcome every trial he has faced. Duke took control of his life. He entered AA programs, he went through counseling to deal with the trauma of his past, and he found a job and a car. His life is a living example of what you can become if you take control and refuse to let the demons of your past keep you down. Duke’s story is nothing more than an inspiration to us all that when life knocks us down over and over again we can choose to stay down or we can choose to fight. Duke is an overcomer and a hero. He is a kind-hearted fighter who would do anything for anyone.

In May Duke’s doctor found a spot on his lung. They ran several tests and were then sent to a specialist for a biopsy. The doctors told Duke they were 70% sure it was cancerous but were not sure and scheduled him for a PET scan. The surgeons told Duke that they still don’t know what it is and they would do another CT scan in 3 months.

As you can imagine the medical and travel costs are adding up so this Go Fund Me is to relieve some of those financial constraints. Duke has fought every setback, roadblock, and hardship that has come his way. Let’s all come together and fight this one with Duke.
